WiFi Module
A wireless local area network (WLAN) communication module for the IQ Panel.
Provides the IQ Panel with a WLAN uplink where running physical cable to the existing site network is impractical. The typical use case is a retrofit installation into a facility that is already in production.

- Modbus TCP
The WiFi Module provides the IQ Panel with a WLAN uplink where running physical cable to the existing site network is impractical. The typical use case is a retrofit installation into a facility that is already in production.
Modbus TCP and MQTT traffic is carried over a 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11 b/g/n link. WPA2/WPA3 is applied at the link layer and TLS at the application layer.
Data integrity
The module stores outgoing telemetry in a local buffer for the duration of any coverage loss and transmits it in order once the connection returns. No gap appears in the trend history.
The sealed IP67 housing and external antenna option allow the radio to be positioned outside the metal panel body, at a point where RF attenuation is low.
Key features
- Gives panels with no cable infrastructure a WLAN uplink.
- WPA2/WPA3 link security plus TLS at the application layer; no plaintext telemetry crosses the site network.
- Store-and-forward buffering prevents data loss during coverage gaps.
- Sealed IP67 housing; the radio can be positioned outside the panel.
- External antenna option for switchgear rooms with high RF attenuation.
- Shares the expansion slot and enclosure with the cellular and LoRaWAN modules; field-swappable.

Frequently asked questions
When should I choose the WiFi module?
The WiFi module is the right choice when usable site WLAN infrastructure already exists and full-resolution telemetry is required. It carries no operating cost. For remote sites with no corporate network, choose the cellular module (CM-G200); for topologies with many scattered nodes spread over a wide geography, choose the LoRaWAN module (CM-L300).
Is data lost when the connection drops?
No. The module stores outgoing telemetry in a local buffer for the duration of the coverage loss and transmits it in order once the connection returns, leaving no gap in the trend history.
Is telemetry carried in plaintext over the site network?
No. WPA2/WPA3 is applied at the link layer and TLS 1.2 at the application layer; no plaintext telemetry crosses the site network.
What if the metal panel enclosure blocks the signal?
The sealed IP67 housing and external antenna option allow the radio to be positioned outside the metal panel body, at a point where RF attenuation is low.
